About Hemavan

Hemavan is one of Sweden's most well-known mountain destinations, located in the southern Lappland mountains in Västerbotten. Here, people gather year-round for skiing, hiking, cycling, and nature experiences in one of the country's most magnificent mountain environments.

About Us

In the heart of the village, within walking distance to the ski slope, airport, and mountain trails, lies Hemavan Mountain Center. Here, we operate a hotel, hostel, cabins, and apartments, and manage a large number of private accommodations in the area. In total, we offer over 150 cabins and apartments, as well as several different accommodation buildings on the premises.

On the site, you'll also find the restaurant O’Learys Hemavan, conference facilities, and services for both private guests and businesses. Many guests come here for skiing in the winter or hiking and cycling in the summer, but also for conferences, kickoffs, and group trips in the mountain environment.

Hemavan Mountain Center is a place where people meet. Our goal is to create a gathering point in the Swedish mountains where guests can stay, eat, socialize, and experience the mountains together. Behind the experience is a dedicated team that works every day to provide guests with warm hospitality and a memorable stay.

Reception Manager with Sales and Leadership Responsibility

Do you want to lead, develop, and manage the reception at one of the mountain world's most comprehensive facilities – year-round?

We are looking for a structured leader with a strong business focus who wants to take overall responsibility for the reception while being an active part of our sales and guest experience. This is not a seasonal position – it is a long-term key role in our continued development.

Start: As soon as possible

Employment: Permanent (6-month probationary period)

Scope: Full-time, year-round

The Role – More Than Reception

As the reception manager, you have the operational and strategic responsibility for the reception's performance, structure, and results. You not only ensure high service – you drive sales, optimize occupancy, and develop working methods that strengthen both profitability and guest satisfaction.

You lead the daily work, plan staffing, and develop the team. During peak season, the organization grows significantly, requiring clear leadership, structure, and the ability to create order even at a fast pace.

This is a year-round position with a focus on long-term commitment, where you are an important part of our development as a facility and workplace. You are responsible for routines, flows, and quality in the guest experience, while introducing and supporting seasonal staff. You are both a team leader and a team player, with your sights set high and your feet on the ground.

You report to site management and are an important part of the facility's business development.

Your Mission

  • Lead and develop the reception's work year-round
  • Ensure a high level of service and professional hospitality
  • Actively work with upselling, packaging, and revenue optimization
  • Be responsible for bookings, invoicing, cash handling, and administrative flows
  • Plan, introduce, and coach seasonal staff
  • Coordinate group and conference bookings
  • Develop routines, streamline processes, and improve system usage
  • Monitor key performance indicators and contribute to the business's profitability

We Are Looking for You Who

  • Have experience from reception, hotel, or the hospitality industry
  • Have documented experience in leading staff
  • Are a natural salesperson who sees business opportunities in every contact
  • Are structured, clear, and confident in your leadership
  • Enjoy responsibility and drive the work forward
  • Work solution-oriented and have good administrative ability
  • Speak and write fluently in Swedish and English
  • Have experience with booking systems

We Will Teach You – If You Have the Right Attitude

You do not need to have worked in a mountain environment or know our systems from the start. If you have a sense for service, sales, and leadership, enjoy collaborating, and take responsibility for your work – then we will teach you the rest. We are primarily looking for you who are curious, solution-oriented, and motivated by being an important cog in a larger context.
