Class Teacher Grades 4-6

Lund Waldorf School is seeking an engaged and knowledgeable class teacher for grades 4–6. The position involves teaching in multiple subjects such as Swedish, English, mathematics, science, and social studies.

We are looking for someone who wants to work based on the holistic view of learning and humanity in Waldorf pedagogy, where teaching is shaped in line with students' maturity, questions, and developmental needs. Through storytelling, creative methods, and interdisciplinary themes, we create teaching that stimulates thinking, feeling, and action.

About Lund Waldorf School

The school is located close to nature in Hardeberga outside Lund and operates as an idea-driven, non-profit foundation.

We have around 165 students in grades preschool–9 and about forty staff members. Waldorf pedagogy permeates our entire operation—from teaching and curriculum to the school's culture and community. Here, there is room for pedagogical freedom, creativity, and long-term relationship-building between teachers and students.

About Teaching in Grades 4–6

In middle school, the national curriculum Lgr22 is combined with the developmental pedagogical perspective of Waldorf pedagogy. Teaching is often designed thematically and interdisciplinary, which strengthens students' understanding of connections between different subjects.

Students work, among other things, with main lesson books, where they document and process teaching through both text and images. This strengthens subject understanding and encourages personal and creative learning.

Teaching is adapted to students' maturity, needs, and learning styles.

Job Duties

As a class teacher in grades 4–6, you will:

• Teach multiple subjects, primarily Swedish, English, mathematics, science, and social studies
• Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching based on Lgr22 and the didactic principles of Waldorf pedagogy
• Work thematically and interdisciplinary
• Adapt teaching to students' maturity levels and different ways of learning
• Assess and document students' knowledge development according to national requirements
• Contribute to a safe and vibrant school environment
• Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the school's development

Qualifications

We are looking for you who meet several of the following qualifications:

• Waldorf teacher training (or ongoing), or high motivation to train in Waldorf pedagogy
• State teacher training for primary school, specialization grades 4–6
• Subject and didactic competence through education and/or work experience
• Experience teaching in primary school, preferably in middle school
• Experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disorder diagnoses and understanding of adapted methods
• A lively commitment to children's development and a reflective approach to learning
