Description
Lund Waldorf School is seeking an engaged and warm class teacher for grades 1–3 who wants to work long-term with students' development and learning in a safe and creative school environment.
As a class teacher with us, you closely follow the students' development and create teaching where knowledge, imagination, and relationships grow together. We work based on the holistic view of the human being in Waldorf pedagogy, where teaching is shaped in line with children's maturity, curiosity, and needs.
Through storytelling, artistic elements, movement, and practical work, teaching is created that stimulates thought, feeling, and will.
About Lund Waldorf School
The school is located close to nature in Hardeberga outside Lund and is run as a non-profit, non-profit foundation.
We have approximately 165 students in grades preschool–9 and around forty employees. Waldorf pedagogy forms the basis of all our activities and creates a school environment where creativity, responsibility, and long-term relationship building are central parts.
With us, teachers have space for pedagogical freedom, subject depth, and close collaboration with colleagues.
About Teaching in Grades 1–3
In the younger ages, we place great emphasis on creating security, joy in work, and curiosity about learning.
The teaching integrates several subjects and combines Lgr22 with the developmental pedagogical perspective of Waldorf pedagogy. Stories, rhythm in the school day, artistic expressions, and practical elements are important components.
Students develop their basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, while imagination, social development, and creativity are given ample space.
Job Responsibilities
As a class teacher for grades 1–3, you will:
- Be responsible for the class's teaching and development
- Teach in multiple subjects, primarily Swedish, mathematics, science, physical education, art, and social studies
- Plan, implement, and evaluate teaching based on Lgr22 and the didactic principles of Waldorf pedagogy
- Create a safe, structured, and inspiring learning environment
- Adapt teaching to students' maturity levels and individual needs
- Assess and document students' knowledge development
- Collaborate with colleagues, student health services, and guardians
- Contribute to the school's shared pedagogical development
Qualifications
We are looking for you who meet several of the following qualifications:
- Waldorf teacher training (or ongoing), or high motivation to train in Waldorf pedagogy
- State teacher training for compulsory school, specialization preschool–3
- Subject and didactic competence through education and/or work experience
- Experience of teaching in compulsory school, preferably in lower grades
- Experience working with students with neurodevelopmental disorders and understanding of adapted working methods
- A lively commitment to children's development and a reflective approach to learning
