Supervisor / Director in Stockholm City
Description
Supervisor sought for the most meaningful assignment of the summer – Stockholm City
Apply for the most rewarding job of the summer, "Ready Set Act" is a holiday project where young adults (15–19 years) get to try working as actors during the summer break. We are now looking for engaged supervisors for this year's edition in Stockholm City.
As a supervisor, you lead a group of about 10 holiday interns in rehearsing, marketing, and performing a children's play – outdoors – for preschools and families. Your task is to create a safe, fun, and meaningful workplace where the young people can grow, dare, and participate.
This is not a typical theater job.
Many participants have never been on stage – some have not even been on time to a job before. Your role is to create structure, safety, and work peace in a group with mixed engagement, diverse backgrounds, and sometimes difficult conditions.
The focus is not on the result – but on the participants showing up, daring to try, and growing as individuals.
It requires leadership, patience, and an ability to stay calm even when there's a storm.
The project is run by Teater Carpa, which since 2012 has conducted cultural projects across Sweden. We use theater as a tool for personal development, community, and social engagement.
We are looking for you who:
- Are confident in leading a group with mixed engagement for theater
- Have a warm, clear, and attentive leadership
- Understand that what matters is not how it turns out, but how we do it together
- Want to create a functional workplace for young people at the beginning of their working lives
- Are flexible, self-sufficient, and see every individual
All activities take place outdoors, so you need to enjoy working in summer weather – whether it's sun or rain.
Requirements:
- Experience with theater activities in some form
Meritorious experiences:
- Work at SIS homes
- Knowledge of/experience with NPF
- SFI or language teaching
- Youth leisure activities
- Leisure leader, travel leader, or similar
- Experience in service or retail
- Work with children's, youth, or adult groups
About the position:
