Uret.se is seeking a watchmaker for Kalmar - Focus 100% on the craft

Uret.se was founded in 2006 and is today Scandinavia's largest online watch shop. In addition to new watches, we also work with Certified Pre-Owned watches, where each watch undergoes a thorough technical review, quality assurance, and certification in our own watchmaking workshop before being sold via Uret.se.

Due to continued growth, we are now seeking an additional watchmaker for our watchmaking workshop in Kalmar.

About the position

As a watchmaker with us, you work with watches for resale via Uret.se. The work takes place internally in our watchmaking workshop in Kalmar and is organized in a structured flow together with colleagues.

The role is primarily workshop-based with a focus on the craft. Any customer contact occurs only to a limited extent and mainly internally or in writing. The emphasis of the work is on assessing, repairing, and finishing watches with high quality and precision for online sales.

You work independently with clear responsibility for each watch's function, condition, and final result.

Job duties

– Service, repair, and renovation of mainly pre-owned quality watches

– Authenticity and function checks

– Assessment of service needs and appropriate level of action for sales

– Quality assurance and final inspection of completed watches

– Contact with external watchmakers and suppliers as needed

– Assessment and execution of polishing and finish considering originality, condition, and value

Meritorious, but not required

– Experience in valuing pre-owned watches

– Macro photography of watch movements, dials, and details

– Certifications or further education in watchmaking

– Have watchmaking education or equivalent documented competence

– Are meticulous, humble, and responsible

– Enjoy working independently and methodically

– Have a good eye for finish, originality, and details

– Have a good sense for when interventions like polishing are appropriate or inappropriate

– Master Swedish or English in speech and writing
